REFLECTIONS
The short film by MERRI CYR featuring Stephanie and her music
OUT NOW
In this short film, cellist Stephanie Winters and collaborator Chris Rosser create an original soundtrack of cello music for this 18-minute surreal film created by filmmaker and photographer Merri Cyr.
For the film soundtrack, Winters excerpts the Sarabande dance movement from each of the Six Cello Suites by J.S. Bach and contextualizes these iconic solo-cello works with original compositions created with composer and studio engineer, Chris Rosser. The new works, called Reflections, utilize up to 59 cello parts, resulting in a magical and lush musical cello-choir soundscape.
The intention of this music is to uplift and calm the listener.
This project was made possible in part by a grant from the Westport Cultural Council and the Helen Ellis Charitable Trust.
